In a bid to break the deadlock on naming transport corporation after caste leaders in southern districts, Tamil Nadu Government agrees to create a new bus corporation named after Pulithevan.

10/27/1605Akbar (Abul-Fath Djalal-ud-Din), Mughal emperor of India (1556-1605), passed away of diarrhea or dysentery at the age of 63 years. After his death his body was buried at a mausoleum in Sikandra, Agra.
12/22/2000Three Army jawans die in an attack by a suicide squad of Lakshar-e-Taiba at the Red Fort in Delhi leading to a 45-minute gun-battle.
3/12/1992A devastating wave of car-bomb explosions killed an estimated 300 people and injured hundreds more today in the large western Indian port city of Bombay. The first blast ripped through the city's stock exchange building, and minutes later a dozen slightly less powerful explosions rocked the bustling city center.The bomb attacks appeared to have been part of a carefully planned operation.The devices were clearly meant to cause maximum loss of life and damage to property.
