I am on L1B and my Spouse on L2, we are landing in US next month in Seattle from India. Wanted to know how the following things will work and what all documents will be required?- Getting a SSN (Can both of us apply simultaneously or will spouse has to first apply for EAD?)- What address to give while applying for SSN as our temporary accomodation is only for 2 weeks and we wont have any apartment on rent till then i believe- For renting a house, what documents are required? Is SSN mandatory? Is a credit card mandatory? Since we wont have any credit history?- Documents required for getting a sim card, getting a drivers license, opening a bank account? What is the sequence of getting all these things done? Which has to be a prework for doing anything else? Like can i find a house on rent before SSN/Phone number etc?

Proof of your identity - PassportAge - PassportImmigration status with original or certified copies of certain documents - Your L1 paperworkThe benefit of an L1 visa is that your spouse can work in the US as well. Can both of us apply simultaneously or will spouse has to first apply for EAD? - I would recommend the L1 visa holder applies first. If you employers approve, then you could give your office address. This is a problem with most people who come to the USA for the first time. For renting a house, what documents are required? - Passport, a letter from your employer stating that you work where you say you work, a bank statement. Since each apartment has their own rules, it would be best to look online to see which apartment suit your needs and then look at their documentation requirements. Also helpful if you join an online Desi Whatsapp group, local to your area.Is SSN Mandatory? - YesIs credit card mandatory? It makes your life really easy. Bank of America has a secured credit card program. Iam sure other banks have this as well. Basically you put $500 - $1000 in an account and they give you a credit card for that amount. Once you spend that, you put more money into the account.., you get the idea. Google Secured Credit cardDocuments required for getting a sim card, getting a drivers license, opening a bank account? - SSNWithout an SSN you cannot do anything. I suggest you get that first.Proof of your identity - PassportAge - PassportImmigration status with original or certified copies of certain documents - Your L1 paperworkThe benefit of an L1 visa is that your spouse can work in the US as well. Can both of us apply simultaneously or will spouse has to first apply for EAD? - I would recommend the L1 visa holder applies first. If you employers approve, then you could give your office address.
